Bio
Rebecca Pilar Buckwalter-Poza is an attorney, journalist, and strategist. She covers the Supreme Court, the Justice Department, civil rights, and democracy, and has reported for NPR, CNN, The Atlantic, The Nation, and Slate.
As a plaintiff in Knight Institute v. Trump, she helped win a 2018 ruling that the President could not block critics on Twitter, a precedent for the public’s right to engage with officials online. Her reports and op-eds for the Center for American Progress, Ms. Magazine, and Alliance for Justice make the case for fair courts, voting rights, and LGBTQ+ equality, and she appears on television, radio, podcasts, and conference panels to talk about the courts and democracy.
